What: STLC’s Historias de la Vida – La Catrina Ball

Why: To raise essential funds for the South Texas Literacy Coalition to continue our mission of strengthening literacy in our community. Proceeds from the Historias de la Vida – La Catrina Ball will benefit the South Texas Reading Initiative, Little Free Libraries project, and Literacy Education Events. The proceeds will provide expand educational and learning opportunities and resources.

South Texas Reading Initiative: This stellar program allows us to put books in the hands of children. By gifting them a book, we are encouraging a love of reading. By supporting the South Texas Literacy Coalition, you are investing in essential programs that address these challenges, helping to break the cycle of illiteracy and create brighter futures for individuals and families in our community.

Little Free Libraries project: Our satellite libraries allow children in rural areas to gain access to books wherever they are!

Literacy Education Events: STLC’s plans the largest and most attended literacy conference annually in South Texas at FESTIBA. We also host free literacy education events throughout South Texas.
